Day 258 Jerusalem during “Al-Aqsa Flood” Operation
On the 258th day of "Al-Aqsa Flood Operation", settlers’ raids on Al-Aqsa Mosque returned after stopping during the days of Eid al-Adha, and the raids on towns and neighborhoods in the city of Jerusalem continued.
The Wadi Hilweh Information Center - Jerusalem explained that 175 settlers stormed Al-Aqsa during the morning and afternoon raids, through the Dung Gate, in the form of successive groups.
Settlers performed prayers during the storming of Al-Aqsa.
The settlers resumed their incursions into Al-Aqsa, after they stopped for 6 days, “the days of Eid al-Adha and preceded by Friday and Saturday.”
The raids on Al-Aqsa are carried out daily, with the exception of Friday and Saturday of every week and holidays and religious occasions.
Throughout the days of Eid al-Adha, groups and organizations of the alleged temple protested against the closure of Al-Aqsa on Eid, demanding that it be opened and not closed on any day. The groups rejected what they described as the “silence” of the ministers regarding this closure.
On the other hand, on Thursday afternoon, the occupation forces closed the Lions Gate Road, stopped a vehicle and searched it thoroughly under the pretext of “suspecting an object.” During this, they prevented vehicles or pedestrians from moving through the place. This coincided with the funeral of a Jerusalemite in the Yusufiya cemetery, and during that the forces detained the participants after completing the burial, and prevented them from leaving the cemetery until the vehicle was searched.
The forces arrested two young men from the Lions Gate area.
The forces also continued to storm neighborhoods and towns in the city of Jerusalem, and set up police checkpoints on the roads.
