August 13, 2024

On the 312th day of "Al-Aqsa Flood Operation", a young boy was killed in the village of Anata, and thousands of settlers stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Old City on the anniversary of the so-called "Destruction of the Temple".

A martyr

The young boy Shadi Wissam Shiha, 16 years old, was martyred after being targeted by the occupation forces' bullets in the town of Anata, northeast of Jerusalem.

The injured boy was transferred to Hadassah Hospital "Issawiya", and his martyrdom was announced in the hospital, and his body was detained.

While the injured boy was being transferred, the forces closed the military checkpoint at the entrance to the Shu’fat refugee camp, and the forces stormed the camp and Anata several times during the evening hours.

Al-Aqsa Mosque... A widespread desecration

The settlers took advantage of the anniversary of the so-called "Destruction of the Temple" to carry out their largest storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque in one day, and to turn it into a square for them "to pray, sing, whistle, and raise Israeli flags".

The number of those who stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque reached 2,958 settlers, “2,250 extremists during the morning raids, and 708 during the afternoon raids,” through the dung Gate, whose keys have been controlled by the occupation authorities since the occupation of the city of Jerusalem.

The raids on Al-Aqsa were headed by the Minister of National Security Itamar Ben Gavir, the Minister of the Negev and Galilee Yitzhak  Wasserlauf, and MK Amit Halevi. They participated in the collective and public prayers in Al-Aqsa, and chanted the anthem "The people of Israel live".

To carry out the largest raids today, the police allowed the settler groups to be large, reaching 200 settlers in the group, and also allowed the presence of 3 groups of settlers inside Al-Aqsa at the same time.

In Al-Aqsa, the settlers prayed, sang, and danced with flags, clapped and whistled, and chanted slogans specific to this holiday. At the eastern wall of Al-Aqsa, the most prominent stations where collective prayers were performed, and the settlers prostrated themselves several times in the place, in addition to singing along the path of the raids. Dozens of settlers prostrated themselves for the first time near the Al-Qattaneen Gate opposite the Dome of the Rock, and the settlers raised the Israeli flags several times. The occupation forces were deployed in the courtyards of Al-Aqsa and accompanied the settlers during the storming, and determined the seating area for the worshipers, whose numbers did not exceed dozens due to the ban and restrictions imposed on their entry since the dawn prayer.

Minister Ben Gavir said during the storming of Al-Aqsa: "We have made great progress in the field of governance and sovereignty, we all saw the Jews praying here freely, and as I said before: "Our policy is to allow the Jews to pray."

He added during his walk in Al-Aqsa: "We must win this war, we must achieve victory and not go to meetings in Doha or Cairo, what is required is victory over them and their submission."

As for the Old City, especially the gates of Al-Aqsa and Al-Wad Street, they were turned into a military barracks, after dozens of soldiers were deployed on the roads and at the gates of Al-Aqsa, and hundreds of settlers performed prayers from the dawn hours until the afternoon at all the gates of the mosque from the outside.

The occupation police prevented worshipers of all ages from entering Al-Aqsa, and asked some of them to return after noon and some after 3 pm "that is, after the two periods of incursions", in implementation of the temporal division of Al-Aqsa.

The forces assaulted a young man while he was near the Lions Gate, and arrested him.

The forces also removed the worshipers "Nafisa Khweis, Abu Bakr Shaimi, and Nitham Abu Rammouz" outside the walls of the Old City, and prevented them from sitting on the doorsteps of Al-Aqsa.

Islamic commission and authorities in Jerusalem

The Islamic commissions and authorities in Jerusalem condemned the escalating and unprecedented violations committed by the occupation government against Al-Aqsa Mosque/Al-Haram Al-Sharif, as it recently began implementing plans by Jewish extremists to sabotage the status quo that has existed for more than 1,400 years in Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The Islamic commissions and authorities in Jerusalem warned of the consequences of the occupation authorities enabling hundreds of Jewish extremists, accompanied by ministers, politicians and Knesset members, to desecrate and storm Al-Aqsa Mosque, under the pretext of what they claim is "the anniversary of the destruction of the Temple", under heavy protection from police, border police and armed special forces, and allowing the extremists to conduct provocative tours and set up dancing circles, clapping and singing, and raising the Israeli flag, and other violations that provoke the feelings of two billion Muslims around the world.

The Islamic organizations also condemned the empowerment of hundreds of extremists to besiege Al-Aqsa Mosque and shout and bang on the gates of Al-Aqsa on the night of August 12, 2024, as part of attempts to Judaize the surroundings of Al-Aqsa Mosque and occupy the courtyards of its gates with provocative violations aimed at changing the Arab and Islamic identity of the holy city.

The religious bodies in Jerusalem condemned the international community's failure to stop these violations.

The religious bodies and authorities in Jerusalem called on all Muslims around the world to rally around the Hashemite guardianship to enable it to perform its duty to protect Al-Aqsa Mosque as a pure mosque for Muslims alone.

Settler attacks

Settlers deliberately vandalized the locks of dozens of shops in the Old City of Jerusalem, by breaking them and placing small wooden sticks inside them. They also vandalized the shops' merchandise, in addition to vandalizing vehicles and motorcycles.

Settlers attacked worshipers as they headed to dawn prayers, and around the clock they directed insults and obscene language at Palestinians and merchants and spat at them.

Raids

The forces continued their raids on towns and neighborhoods in Jerusalem, and arrested a young man and a child from the town of Silwan, and a child from the village of Issawiya.
