August 28, 2024

On the 327th day of "Al-Aqsa Flood Operation", five demolition operations were carried out in the city of Jerusalem, and scattered arrests were carried out from the city, while settlers continued their raids on Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Demolition and displacement

Members of the Salaymeh family self-demolished their homes in the Wadi Qaddoum neighborhood this afternoon, by decision of the occupation municipality under the pretext of building without a permit.

The Salaymeh family explained that the municipality refused to postpone or freeze the demolition decision, and issued the final demolition decision and gave them several days to implement it, otherwise its mechanisms would do so and the family would have to pay a fine "demolition fee" to the municipality "mechanisms and crews" and the accompanying forces, so the family was forced to implement the "self-demolition" option despite its difficulty for them.

The family explained that the building, which has an area of "150 square meters", consists of 3 apartments, was built in 2010, and the municipality began pursuing them in 2014, with violations and demolition decisions.

The family added that the municipality imposed building violations on them amounting to "120 thousand shekels", and after years of attempts to obtain a license, the final demolition decision was issued.

The apartments are home to 12 people, half of whom are children.

The family noted that the municipality demolished their home 23 years ago, and today the same scene is repeated, with demolition, displacement and rubble.

The Salaymeh family emptied their homes late last night and were forced to demolish them today.

In Wadi al-Joz neighborhood, forces accompanied by municipal bulldozers stormed a commercial facility (a car dealership), demolished the floor of the dealership and completely bulldozed it, several days after its owner carried out the demolition himself, but he was surprised today by the storming of the place and the bulldozing and destruction of the floor.

In the village of Sur Baher, bulldozers demolished the floor of a "building foundation" in the village.

Yesterday evening, a self-demolition of a house was carried out in the village of Sur Baher.

Shu’fat refugee camp…A large-scale raid

The occupation forces stormed Shu’fat refugee camp in the afternoon and prevented entry or exit from it during the raid.

Local sources in the camp explained that dozens of forces stormed the camp through the military checkpoint and the "Ras Khamis" gate, and spread out in its streets and alleys. They also stormed several buildings in the camp, and a force stormed the town of Anata.

The sources added that the forces heavily fired tear gas bombs and rubber bullets in the streets of the camp.

The forces arrested 4 young men from the town of Anata.

Raids and arrests

The forces raided Silwan and Issawiya, deployed in the streets, set up flying checkpoints, and carried out arrests and summonses for 8 young men.

In Silwan, the municipality imposed a fine of "475 shekels" on the Abu Diab family, under the pretext of having leaves in front of their homes.

Al-Aqsa…Daily raids and public prayers

179 extremists stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque through the Dung Gate, whose keys have been controlled by the occupation authorities since the occupation of Jerusalem.

The settlers performed their collective and public prayers during the storming of Al-Aqsa.

Preventing an event for Tawjihi students

The occupation intelligence prevented the holding of an event to "honor the Tawjihi students" in the Safsaf Hall in the Wadi al-Hummos neighborhood in Jerusalem, which was called for by the "Wafa’ for Women and Children" Association, as warnings and threats were issued to storm the hall if the event was held.
