Day 334 Jerusalem during “Al-Aqsa Flood” Operation
September 4, 2024

On the 334th day of "Al-Aqsa Flood Operation", hundreds of settlers stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque, and the raids and arrests continued in the city of Jerusalem, and the intelligence summoned the Governor of Jerusalem for investigation.

Al-Aqsa…Violation and Prayers

ON Wednesday, 514 settlers stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque, during the morning and afternoon incursion periods, at the beginning of the Hebrew month, in successive groups through the Dung Gate, whose keys have been controlled by the occupation authorities since the occupation of Jerusalem.

Al-Aqsa Mosque witnessed serious violations during today's raids, most notably, a rabbi blowing the trumpet in Al-Aqsa Mosque, and "prostrating on the ground" collectively "in the eastern area", dancing and singing circles, in several areas of Al-Aqsa, and dozens of settlers wore special prayer clothes and carried special religious books.

Since August 13, since the so-called anniversary of the “destruction of the temple", "public and collective" prayers have been held daily during the raids, under the guard and protection of the occupation police.

Raids and arrests

The occupation forces raided the village of Issawiya at dawn, arrested two young men and transferred them for investigation. They also raided the Shu’fat refugee camp and arrested a young man.

Eyewitnesses from the Shu’fat refugee camp explained that the forces raided the camp several times, deliberately stationed themselves in front of shops and health centers, and stopped young men.

In the Damascus Gate area, municipal crews assaulted street vendors and deliberately vandalized their goods.

The forces continued to raid towns and neighborhoods in Jerusalem, and set up checkpoints in the city's streets.

Arrests of young men holding "West Bank" ID cards also continued, under the pretext of "entering Jerusalem illegally."

Summoning the Governor of Jerusalem

The occupation intelligence summoned the Governor of Jerusalem, Adnan Ghaith, for investigation at the "Rooms 4" police station, and handed him a decision stating "the intention to renew the decision to ban him from entering the West Bank."

Ghaith has been banned from entering the West Bank for 6 years, and the governor has been under house arrest in his home in the town of Silwan since August 2022, after the Israeli prosecution submitted an indictment that included "violating the decision to ban him from entering the West Bank."

The Wadi Hilweh Information Center - Jerusalem explained that since the Governor of Jerusalem assumed his position in 2018, several restrictions have been imposed on him and are renewed immediately upon their expiration, the most prominent of which are "house arrest in his place of residence in Silwan, travel ban, ban on entering the West Bank, and ban on participating in any event in Jerusalem."
