Day 415 Jerusalem during “Al-Aqsa Flood” Operation
On the 415th day of "Al-Aqsa Flood” operation, the occupation municipality crews distributed demolition orders to facilities in the town of Silwan, and dozens of settlers stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque.
The Wadi Hilweh Information Center - Jerusalem explained that the municipality crews and police officers stormed the Al-Bustan neighborhood in Silwan, and posted demolition orders on a number of facilities to be implemented within 21 days.
The Wadi Hilweh Information Center learned that the municipality posted demolition orders on homes belonging to the Abu Diab and Abu Shafe’ families, and on a parking lot belonging to the Al-Tawil family, and gave the families 3 weeks to implement the demolition orders.
The municipality took photographs of the neighborhood and the threatened facilities.
A few weeks ago, the occupation municipality returned to targeting the Al-Bustan neighborhood in Silwan, by carrying out demolitions.
The Al-Bustan neighborhood case dates back to 2004, with a decision by the municipality to demolish the entire neighborhood to implement a plan on its ruins; the "King's Garden" project. In 2005, demolition notices and warnings began to be distributed. After international pressure, the movement of international and local human rights organizations, and diplomatic action, the demolition decisions were frozen, and the residents, through teams of engineers and lawyers, began to submit structural plans to organize and develop the neighborhood, open streets, and allocate sites for infrastructure and public facilities "such as schools and playgrounds".
In March 2021, the residents and neighborhood committees were surprised by the decision of the occupation municipality to reject the engineering plans for the Al-Bustan neighborhood and not to extend the freeze on the decisions to demolish the neighborhood's homes, and the municipality renounced all agreements with the relevant authorities.
The Wadi Hilweh Information Center explained that the municipality began implementing demolitions in the Al-Bustan neighborhood during the past year, and escalated during the past weeks, and last week demolished the Silwan sit-in tent, which was set up in 2009 in rejection of the demolition and forced displacement decisions. Over the past years, the tent was the main address for the activities of the entire town, the diplomatic delegation, and human rights organizations. They also demolished the Al-Bustan Center, and the homes of the Odeh, Jalajel, Badran, and Abu Diab families, and before that the homes of Al-Rajabi, Dweik, Rweidi, Ayed, and Abu Diab families.

192 settlers carried out their raids on Al-Aqsa Mosque through the Dung Gate, whose keys have been controlled by the occupation authorities since the occupation of the city of Jerusalem.

In the evening hours, the forces raided Shu’fat refugee camp, and threw tear gas bombs randomly in the alleys and neighborhoods of the camp.
