Day 457 Jerusalem during “Al-Aqsa Flood” Operation
On the 457th day of "Al-Aqsa Flood” operation, the Aweida family carried out the decision to demolish their homes in the town of Silwan by a decision from the occupation municipality, and the settlers continued their raids on Al-Aqsa Mosque, and the raids on towns and neighborhoods in the city of Jerusalem continued.
The Wadi Hilweh Information Center-Jerusalem explained that the Aweida family was forced to self-demolish their six homes under the pretext of building without a permit.
It said that the total area of the apartments is 350 square meters (a two-story building), and after years of living in them and trying to license them, the municipality issued the final demolition decision.
The family said that they were forced to carry out the self-demolition to avoid paying fines "demolition fees to the municipality and the accompanying police" in the amount of 300 thousand shekels.
It explained that the houses are inhabited by the brothers Jalal, Akram, Tariq, Ahmed, Adel, and Saleh, and 62 individuals live in them, including 50 children.
It said that the municipality imposed a building violation on them in the amount of 120 thousand shekels.
The Aweida family members were left in the open after being forced to self-demolish their homes, knowing that the first apartment in it has been standing for 50 years, and then the family expanded the construction.
The settlers continued their raids on Al-Aqsa, and 188 settlers carried out their raids on Al-Aqsa Mosque, under the protection of the occupation forces, through the Dung Gate, whose keys have been controlled by the occupation authorities since the occupation of Jerusalem.
The raids also continued on towns and neighborhoods in the city of Jerusalem.
The police said that they continued to arrest young men in Jerusalem or who tried to enter it illegally "because they carry West Bank IDs", and they arrested 10 young men at the Z’ayem checkpoint, and 6 young men in Street No. 1, and they also arrested the drivers.
