Details - 15 Jerusalemite male and female prisoners released in the exchange deal
On the first day of the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, and after 470 days of war, the occupation authorities released 15 Jerusalemite prisoners in the exchange deal/the first part of the first stage.
The Wadi Hilweh Information Center - Jerusalem explained that the occupation authorities released the prisoners: Nawal Fteiha, sentenced to 8 years in prison, Abla Sa’adat, 69 years old "administrative detention", Tamara Abu Laban, sentenced to one year in prison, Tahrir Jaber "administrative detention", female prisoners under arrest: Zeina Barbar, Latifa Msha'sha', Aseel Eid, and Rose Khweis.
They also released: Prisoner Adam Al-Hadra, sentenced to 34 months in prison, and the detained prisoners: Thaer Abu Sarah, Mahmoud Aleiwat, Fahmi Farroukh, Qasem Ja'afra, Firas Al-Maqdisi, and Issam Abu Diab.
The center explained that the highest sentence of those released was for prisoner Nawal Fteiha, who has been detained since the beginning of 2020, the oldest is Abla Sa’adat, the wife of the Secretary-General of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, and the youngest is Mahmoud Aleiwat, 15 years old. The center added that the prosecution had demanded sentences of actual imprisonment for the detained prisoners between 18 months and 16 years.
The center explained that the occupation authorities released the Jerusalemite prisoners after midnight, specifically at 1:00 a.m. and the release procedures were as follows: summoning the detainee's family member to the Al-Maskoubiya police station in the afternoon, and informing him/her of the release conditions "not to gather during the prisoner's reception, not to raise flags and banners, not to set off firecrackers", then releasing the detainee's family member and asking him/her to wait at home until he is contacted again to come and receive the prisoner from the detention center.
The Wadi Hilweh Information Center - Jerusalem explained that the intelligence returned and contacted the prisoner's family at 7:00 pm and asked them to come to the Al-Maskoubiya police station, then the prisoners were released and each prisoner was taken with his family member to the door of their home in Silwan and Al-Tur.
The center explained that the Jerusalemite prisoners were released from Al-Maskoubiya prison, with the exception of Abla Sa’adat, Tahrir Jaber, and Latifa Msha'sha' who were released from Ofer prison.
The center explained that the name of prisoner Latifa Msha'sha' was included in the lists of prisoners scheduled to be released in the first phase, but the intelligence informed the family when they went to the Al-Maskoubiya police station that her name was not on the list, so the family moved between Ofer and Al-Maskoubiya prisons, until they learned that she was at Ofer prison.
The Prisoners' Media Office said: During the process of checking the names of prisoners released in Ofer prisons, it became clear that there was one female prisoner missing from the list, and the technical teams contacted the mediators and the Red Cross to pressure the occupation to abide by the agreed-upon list of prisoners.
On the other hand, the intelligence and occupation forces raided the homes of the families of Jerusalemite prisoners throughout the hours of Sunday, in addition to the raids that occurred on Saturday.
The center said that the intelligence raided the homes several times and searched them, in addition to stationing themselves in their surroundings, from the evening hours until an hour after the release of the prisoner, and each time they threatened the family members.
At the Ja’afra family home, they severely beat the family members - before the prisoner arrived - and surrounded the entire perimeter of the house and removed everyone from the place, and threatened to use tear gas and sound bombs. Several members of the Ja’afra family sustained various bruises.
