Jerusalem journalists are being targeted…arrests and raids

Israeli occupation forces arrested a Jerusalemite journalist on Sunday and summoned another for interrogation.

The Wadi Hilweh Information Center in Jerusalem reported that the forces arrested Jerusalemite journalist Latifa Abdul Latif from the Damascus Gate area in Jerusalem and extended her detention until she appears in court on Monday.

The Intelligence summoned the Jerusalemite journalist Lana Kamleh for interrogation at the “Room 4” Center in western Jerusalem, where she was detained and interrogated for approximately two hours about her journalistic work.

Over the past few days, the occupation authorities have arrested and summoned a number of Jerusalemite journalists, both males and females, and photographers, including Nadine Ja’far, Ahmed Jalajel, Ibrahim Sinjlawi, Rami al-Khatib, Saif al-Qawasmi, Mohammad Abu Sneineh, Bayan al-Jo’beh, and Mohammad Sadeq. Some of them were also expelled from Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The forces arrested the freed prisoner Saleh Abu al-Hummus while he was passing through the Al-Z’ayem checkpoint east of Jerusalem. The court extended the detention of Izz al-Din Jamjoum, a teenager from the village of Issawiya, until next Wednesday, after Jamjoum was arrested yesterday from the Damascus Gate area in ​​Jerusalem.

The court extended the detention of Mo’men Karki until Thursday, and extended the detention of Yamen Abu Rammouz until next Tuesday.

Late Saturday evening, forces raided the town of Anata and raided the home of freed prisoner Subhi Abu Khalifa (who was released in the first phase of the prisoner exchange deal at the end of last January). They arrested his brother, Mohammad Abu Khalifa, and released him several hours later.

The forces also raided the home of the al-Zalbani family and arrested four young men.

During the raid on Anata, the forces fired live ammunition and tear gas canisters, and one young man was shot in the abdomen.
