Arrests and sentencing continued during the month of Ramadan.

On Sunday, the court issued a 46-month prison sentence (3 years and 8 months) against Mohammad Obeido, along with a fine of 4,000 shekels. He was arrested in October 2023.

Yesterday evening, Saturday, forces arrested Jerusalemite journalist Saif al-Qawasmi immediately after he left Al-Aqsa Mosque through Al-Silsileh Gate. After being interrogated and detained, he was released on condition that he be banned from entering Al-Aqsa for a week, with the possibility of renewal.

The occupation authorities recently transferred the young men Anwar Obaid, Hamed Obaid, and Mohammad Obaid to administrative detention for four months. The young men were arrested on March 18, 2025.

Last Thursday, the Public Prosecution filed an indictment against Jerusalemite journalist Bayan Jo’beh in the Magistrate's Court, accusing her of "incitement" via social media. The prosecution extended her house arrest until her next court session on Tuesday. The prosecution is demanding that she be detained at home until the end of legal proceedings against her.

Journalist Bayan Jo’beh was arrested on February 28, 2025, from inside Al-Aqsa Mosque while accompanied by her two daughters and her husband, journalist Mohammad Sadiq. She was released after hours of arrest, detention, and interrogation under house arrest, which will be renewed upon completion. Journalist Bayan is nine months pregnant and a mother of two girls.

Last Thursday, the Prison administration released four Jerusalemite prisoners.

The Information Center reported that the occupation authorities released the oldest Jerusalemite prisoner under administrative detention, Omar Abdel Rahim (75 years old) from the town of Beit Hanina, after a year and a half of administrative detention. His administrative detention had been renewed three times, the last of which occurred on the day of his scheduled release.

On Thursday, the occupation authorities released Jerusalemite prisoner Abdullah Muhtaseb after completing his 15-year and three-month sentence. Muhtaseb was scheduled to be released at the beginning of this year, but on the day of his release, he was surprised by a new three-month sentence for "illegally hunting birds 15 years ago."

Prisoner Huthaifa Attoun was released after nine months in administrative detention. The forces raided his family's home before his arrival on the day of his release and remained there until his arrival.

On Thursday, the occupation authorities re-arrested former prisoner Ahmed Najib immediately after his release from Rimon Prison. The District Court also sentenced Abdul Alayan from Issawiya on Thursday to five years in prison and 5,000 shekels. In the evening, forces arrested Basil Abbasi from Silwan.
