Shu’fat refugee camp - Repeated raids and daily arrests
March 25, 2025

For the second day in a row, Israeli occupation forces raided the Shu’fat refugee camp in Jerusalem.

On Tuesday, forces stormed the camp streets, firing tear gas and sound bombs. They also set up police checkpoints and issued random tickets to residents.

On Monday, forces raided the camp in the morning and raided it again in the evening. During the raids, they carried out scattered arrests, including women, young men, and children.

Eyewitnesses reported that the forces arrested approximately 30 Palestinians holding West Bank ID cards on Sunday, including three women and a child.

Regarding the method of arresting Palestinians holding West Bank ID cards, footage shows them being forced to walk in a specific order, in rows behind each other, with their hands clasped on each other's shoulders. They were prohibited from raising their heads or speaking to each other, and were forced to walk long distances through the camp streets while being verbally abused.

Over the past few months, forces have arrested thousands of Palestinians holding West Bank ID cards from various neighborhoods, towns, and streets in Jerusalem, both east and west. They have also closed numerous businesses and arrested their owners on the pretext of employing young men holding West Bank ID cards, and sealed off homes that housed them. Dozens of Jerusalemites have also been arrested on the pretext of transferring or employing them.
