Continuous demolitions – Shu’fat refugee camp, Issawiya, and Wadi Al-Joz
May 19, 2025

On Monday morning, Israeli occupation bulldozers carried out a large-scale demolition and leveling operation in the eastern lands of the village of Issawiya in Jerusalem.

Occupation bulldozers, accompanied by police forces and special forces units, stormed the eastern area of Issawiya and carried out leveling work on a farm belonging to Ziad Mustafa. During the operation, the bulldozers demolished an agricultural room and a sheep pen, in addition to leveling walls and the land.

In early March, the occupation carried out a previous demolition operation targeting the same farm, which included residences and barns.

The eastern lands of Issawiya are among the areas threatened with confiscation for the settlement project known as E1, which aims to connect the settlements east of Jerusalem to their surroundings and isolate the city from its natural expansion.

In Shu’fat refugee camp, the Abu Mayaleh family continues to self-demolish four under-construction apartments, by decision of the occupation municipality, under the pretext of construction "without a permit" and proximity to the separation wall.

The family had added two floors, totaling 370 square meters, and was forced to carry out the demolition itself to avoid the costs of demolition if carried out by municipal crews and accompanying occupation forces.

In the Wadi al-Joz neighborhood, the occupation municipality forced the Abu Farha family to self-demolish a 50-square-meter apartment, under the pretext of lacking a permit.
