At midnight, Israeli occupation forces arrested four guards the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque during a raid into the mosque's courtyards, which included a search of its prayer rooms and facilities.
Eyewitnesses told the Wadi Hilweh Information Center in Jerusalem that the forces stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque and entered several covered prayer rooms, as well as administrative offices, including the Civil Status Office and the fire department. They searched and vandalized their contents.
The witnesses indicated that the occupation forces deliberately threw copies of the Quran on the ground, in a provocative move against the guards present at the scene.
The witnesses added that the occupation forces arrested the guards: Ramzi Za'anin, Basem Abu Jom’a, Iyad Odeh, and Mohammad Arbash.
According to information obtained by the center, the occupation police later released the guards after imposing conditions on them, including summoning them for further investigation.
This raid and searches come amidst the continued imposition of strict restrictions on Muslim worshippers' entry to Al-Aqsa Mosque, under the pretext of the state of emergency imposed in the country amid the ongoing war between Israel and Iran.
