He addressed the "starvation policy"... the occupation forces arrested the Mufti and imposed deportation and investigation on him
July 25, 2025

on Friday, Israeli occupation forces arrested the Mufti of Jerusalem and the Palestinian territories, Sheikh Mohammad Hussein, from inside the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The Wadi Hilweh Information Center in Jerusalem explained that the occupation forces stormed the audio room in Al-Aqsa Mosque and arrested Sheikh Hussein while he was there. They then took him through the Dung Gate to the Al-Buraq Wall area and then to the al-Silsileh Gate interrogation center.

The center added that the police released Sheikh Hussein about an hour after his arrest, on the condition that he be kept away from Al-Aqsa Mosque until next Sunday and that he appear for interrogation on the same day.

Sheikh Mohammad Hussein delivered the Friday sermon today at Al-Aqsa Mosque, in which he addressed the policy of starvation in the Palestinian territories, saying that Palestinians "are being deprived of food and water and are dying of hunger in front of the eyes of the world, a world that claims humanity and human rights, while reality reveals the falsity of these claims."

After the prayer ended, occupation forces raided the office of the head of the guards, followed by the office of the director of Al-Aqsa Mosque, both located on the roof of the Dome of the Rock, which coincided with the arrest of the Mufti.

The Israeli occupation authorities continue to impose strict restrictions on the entry of worshippers to Al-Aqsa Mosque. Forces stopped those entering at its gates, checked their IDs, and prevented dozens of them from entering for Friday prayers.

The Wadi Hilweh Information Center in Jerusalem reported that occupation forces assaulted and pushed a number of young men at the gates of Al-Aqsa Mosque as they attempted to enter, and subjected many of them to field investigations and body searches.
