January 20, 2026

Israeli courts sentenced residents of Issawiya in Jerusalem amid a continuous campaign involving arrests, summonses, and expulsion orders from the Al-Aqsa Mosque which has now lasted six days.

Mohammad Mahmoud, a lawyer at the Wadi Hilweh Information Center in Jerusalem, reported that the court sentenced Mohammad Obeid to 30 months in prison and Amir Obeid to 24 months.

In related news, the occupation authorities expelled Adam al-Rashq and Amir al-Rashq from the Al-Aqsa Mosque for six months. They also issued deportation orders for one week, which can be renewed for several months, against:

1. Abdul Rahman Aweis

2. Issam Shallodi

3. Ibrahim Abbasi

4. Fayez Sha’ban

5. Hamza Abu Hadwan

6. Mohammad Odeh

7. Ahmad Safadi

The occupation authorities provided each Jerusalemite with a written deportation order, citing "a tangible fear of disrupting public order and security," as the reason for the order.

The orders included aerial maps highlighting the alleys, gates, and entrances that deportees are not allowed to access.

Meanwhile, the forces arrested Nasser Qaws, the director of the Prisoners' Club in Jerusalem.

They also detained Muntaser Idkeidik, the director of the Burj al-Laqlaq Foundation, and released him on condition of deportation from the Old City for 15 days.
