Between detention and raid: New details emerge about the targeting of the family of martyr Qasem Shqeirat
March 27, 2026

For the third consecutive day, the occupation authorities are still holding the body of martyr Qasem Amjad Abu Al-Amal Shqeirat (21 years old).

At dawn on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, occupation forces stormed the family building in Jabal al-Mukabber village, Jerusalem. At the same time, they raided the residence of Qasem's uncle, Omar Abu Al-Amal Shqeirat, on the second floor.

A large contingent, including masked officers and police dogs, conducted the raid. Both residences were extensively searched, and mobile phones along with a laptop were seized. The operation lasted over an hour.

During the raid on Qasem's house, his mother opened the door, and the forces inquired about her son Qasem. They then detained Qasem, his mother, and her 17-year-old son, Qais, in the kitchen, while stopping Qasem's sisters from leaving their rooms.

Later, the mother and Qais were taken from the kitchen to an adjacent room, where they heard a single gunshot. While in that room, soldiers led Qais to his mother's bedroom, forcing her to face the wall so she couldn't see what was happening.

Later, the forces took Qasem out of the house, and the family couldn't find out any details about what happened.

The family also stated that multiple members were attacked during the raid.
