The prosecution informs the Supreme Court: The body of the child Wadi’ Alayan was buried in the "numbers cemetery" six months ago
The Israeli Public Prosecution told the Supreme Court that the remains of 14-year-old martyr Wadih Shadi Alayan were buried in a “cemetery of numbers” around six months ago, following a new petition filed with the court.
The prosecution claimed in its response that the burial occurred on October 29, 2025, despite a prior Supreme Court decision last August that upheld the ongoing withholding of the body.
Alayan was shot and killed on February 5, 2024, by Israeli Border Police officers at the entrance to Al-Eizariya, east of Jerusalem. Video footage captured him being shot while lying on the ground.
The Wadi Hilweh Information Center in Jerusalem reports that occupation authorities are detaining the bodies of 30 Jerusalemite martyrs who hold Israeli identity cards. The oldest has been held since October 2016. Among them are 10 children under 18, with the youngest being 14-year-old Wadi’ Alayan.
