Police fired at a motorcycle in Wadi al-Joz, injuring one rider and arresting two youths
Early Friday morning, Israeli police opened fire at a motorcycle in Jerusalem's Wadi al-Joz neighborhood, resulting in a Palestinian youth being wounded and another person being arrested.
Eyewitnesses reported hearing explosions and gunfire in the neighborhood around 5:00 AM, after which they saw police detain a wounded young man on the ground and arrest the other.
Israeli police stated that the incident happened when officers tried to stop a motorcycle for inspection. They alleged that the rider and passenger did not comply with police commands and attempted to escape, leading officers to shoot.
Police reported that one suspect, allegedly residing illegally in Jerusalem, sustained minor hand injuries and was hospitalized for treatment. The other suspect was detained and brought in for questioning.
