July 29, 2026

On Wednesday, the Israeli Supreme Court conducted a hearing to review appeals against the sentences issued by the Israeli District Court to three youths from Jerusalem's Silwan neighborhood.

Attorney Mohammad Mahmoud from the Wadi Hilweh Information Center in Jerusalem stated that the Supreme Court has decided to reduce each of the youths' sentences by one year.

The court decided to reduce Fajr al-Abbasi and Abdullah Abu Diab's sentences from four to three years, and Abdul Karim Da'na's sentence from three to two years.

In July of last year, the District Court issued its sentences against the youths, and Attorney Mohammad Mahmoud filed the appeals.

In May 2024, Israeli forces detained the three youths, and they have since undergone legal proceedings and trials in Israeli courts.
