Occupation forces open fire on a Palestinian woman at Qalandia checkpoint, north of Jerusalem
Israeli occupation forces shot and wounded a Palestinian woman today, Sunday, at the Qalandia checkpoint north of Jerusalem.
The Jerusalem Governorate identified the woman as 55-year-old Nahed Tartir, from the town of Kafr Aqab, who holds a disability identification card. It said she was walking in the vehicle lane at the checkpoint when occupation forces fired at her, injuring her.
After the shooting, occupation forces shut the checkpoints leading to Jerusalem, including Qalandia and Jaba, causing major traffic congestion in the area.
The forces also fired tear gas canisters during the incident, as restrictions at checkpoints tightened and Palestinian movement was obstructed.
