Arbitrary sentences…sentencing six Jerusalemites
The District Court sentenced on Monday six Jerusalemites for durations between 29 months and 9 years.
Amjad Abu Asab, head of Jerusalemite detainees and prisoners families committee, explained that the District Court sentenced four Jerusalemite prisoners after convicting them of confronting settlers’ break-ins to Al-Aqsa Mosque; they were arrested in October and November 2014. They are:
- Ibrahim Ali Mohammad Natsheh (20) from the village of Al-Ram; sentenced for 9 years in prison.
- Majd Maher Karaki (23) from the village of Al-Tur; sentenced for 8 years and a 3-thousand NIS fine.
- Mohammad Azmi Bakri (21) from Beit Hanina; sentenced for 7 and a half years and a 1000-NIS fine.
- Mahmoud Amjad Musleh Jaber (20) from Shu’fat refugee camp; sentenced for 29 months of actual imprisonment.
The judge also sentenced:
- Yousef Rajabi (19): sentenced for 9 years on charges of planning to carry out a stabbing attack and possession of a knife.
- Hamzeh Jaber Ahmad Abbasi from Silwan; sentenced for 7 years a 10-thousand NIS fine.
Abbasi was accused of throwing Molotov Cocktails and firecrackers towards the settlement outposts in Silwan; he has been under arrest since last May.
