Silwan: A baby suffers a state of suffocation…arresting four Jerusalemites
August 8, 2016

The 8-month old baby Asya Rajabi suffered a state of suffocation after the occupation forces raided her family’s house in the neighborhood of Batn Al-Hawa in Silwan.

Jadallah Rajabi, the baby’s father, explained that the occupation intelligence along with Special Forces and police individuals raided his house and checked his ID and then started searching the house under the pretext of looking for “weapons”. He pointed out that the forces deliberately damaged the contents of the house during the unjustified search operation.

Rajabi added that after the forces withdrew from the house, they deliberately provoked the young men standing nearby and pushed Firas Rajabi and sprayed him with pepper gas. The forces then gathered and randomly sprayed pepper gas in the area which led to suffocation of his 8-month old daughter Asya who was inside the house; she was taken to the clinic for treatment.

The occupation intelligence handed Jadallah a request for interrogation tomorrow at Salah Eddin Street police station.

Arrest and assault

On the other hand, the occupation forces arrested three young men and one child while passing in the area of Dung Gate near Silwan.

Witnesses explained to Wadi Hilweh Information Center that the occupation soldiers stationed at Dung Gate stopped three young men and one child while passing in the area and forced them to take their shirts off before assaulting and pushing them. Witnesses added that the forces arrested them and transferred them the police station for interrogation.

Raiding commercial stores

On Monday night, the occupation forces raided commercial stores in the neighborhood of Ein Al-Lozeh in Silwan and took pictures of the stores’ signs as well as vehicles parked on the side roads; the forces closed the street during the raid.
