November 22, 2017

The occupation municipality’s bulldozers demolished on Wednesday the house of Issam Rajabi in the neighborhood of Beit Hanina north of Jerusalem.

Rajabi family explained that bulldozers and occupation forces raided and surrounded their home. They took out some of the furniture and executed the demolition on top of the rest; the demolition was executed without prior notice.

The family added that the house was 160 square meters where 10 individuals lived; mostly children. It is noteworthy that Issam was preparing part of the house for his son to move in after marriage.

The family said: “The house was established 9 years ago, and the family had been trying to license it from the municipality which imposed a 45-thousand NIS demolition fine on them. The part that the municipality decided to demolish was 30 square meters following an order that was recently issued from court.”

The family added: “We attempted to self-demolish part of the house in order not to cause damage to the house but the municipality requested several days to respond to us. Today, the response came by demolished the whole house without regard to the court’s decision.”
