Pictures- a self-demolition in the village of Silwan
Eyad Ramadan self-demolished a facility in the village of Silwan on Friday following a decision issued by the occupation municipality.
Wadi Hilweh Information Center explained that Eyad Ramadan and his family began this morning to demolish a parking lot in neighborhood of Wadi Hilweh in Silwan, under the pretext of building without a permit.
Eyad Ramadan said that the Israeli municipality issued a decision to demolish the parking lot about 3 months ago under the pretext of building without a permit. He tried to postpone it and license the facility but to no avail. The Israeli police raided the facility several days ago and demanded him to demolish it and gave him until next Sunday to implement the demolition order. Otherwise, the municipality’s bulldozers will demolish the facility on his cost, and he has to pay fines of up to 60,000 NIS.
Ramadan said he had built the parking lot because there were no parking sports for vehicles near his home.
