The Israeli occupation forces stormed the headquarters of Al-Maqased Hospital on Monday while a ceremony was being held to mark the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the hospital entitled “Fifty years of excellence and development on the lands of Jerusalem, "and prevented the completion of the event and forced everyone to leave the headquarters.
Dr. Bassam Abu Libdeh, director of the hospital, said that the Israeli intelligence informed him that the decision to prevent the event was signed by the Minister of Internal Security, under the pretext of organizing it by the Palestinian Authority. He added that the forces surrounded the building of the college – venue of the event –while intelligence officers stormed the theatre and forced everyone out. Then, they chased them to the college yard and forced them out of the place.
Dr. Abu Libdeh added that the occupation authorities prevented today a “social and medical activity”, and assaulted the guests in a barbaric way.
The information center explained that the Israeli occupation forces assaulted the guests and the hospital’s administration staff, and the Association of Jerusalem activists while they were in the yard of the college. At the gate, they arrested activist Ahed Risheq and photographer Saeed Rukon, and threatened others with an electric gun.
