A decision to demolish two houses in Silwan and Jabal Al-Mukabber…distributing demolition notices

Issa Ja'afra continued to empty the contents of his house in the village of Silwan, after the deadline for the "implementation of the demolition order" was finished. The Israeli authorities also issued a decision to demolish parts of the house of Mahmoud Omar Abu Hussein in the village of Jabal Al-Mukabber.

Issa Ja'afra explained to Wadi Hilweh Information Center that the Israeli municipality issued a decision to demolish his house and gave him until the 27th of this month to execute the demolition order. Otherwise, municipal staff will do so and he has pay for the demolition fees.

"I will not demolish my house with my own hands. It is very difficult to do this. I built this house in 2016 to live in it with my family after the entire family building was demolished," Ja'afra said.

The house, which has an area of ​​about 70 square meters, is home to eight people, including five children.

Demolition notices

The Israeli occupation forces distributed demolition notices and summons to follow up with the Israeli occupation municipality for residents of Wadi Hilweh neighborhood of Silwan.

The information center explained that municipal staff filmed the entire neighborhood of Wadi Hilweh, then proceeded to photograph some of the establishments and placed a number of demolition notices on some houses and summonses to their owners to follow up with the municipality.

The center added that the municipality staff handed over the director of Wadi Hilweh Information Center a summon for following up with the municipality.

The occupation forces also stormed Abu Tayeh neighborhood in Silwan and searched vehicles. They also forcedthe shops to close their gates while they were in the streets of the neighborhood.

Jabal Al-Mukabber

The Israeli occupation authorities issued a decision to demolish parts of the house of Mahmoud Omar Abu Hussein in the village of Jabal Al-Mukabber.

Abu Hussein said that the Israeli municipality gave him until the February 5thto implement the decision and self-demolish it. He will demolish parts of his house "100 square meters" next Thursday, added in 2016, adding that he tried to license the house, but the municipality claims that the land is classified as “green” where building is not allowed. It is noteworthy that the locals of the neighborhoods have submitted a request for a structural map of the area.
