Silwan- A Jerusalemite self-demolishes his home
On Friday, Atallah Aleiwat, a resident of Silwan, self-demolished his house in the village of Silwan following an order by the occupation municipality.
He explained that the occupation municipality issued a decision to demolish the house, despite trying over the past years to license it, and had paid fines amounting to about 100 thousand shekels.
He said that he began today to demolish parts of the house, and should complete demolition in the next two days. His house has an area of 80 square meters, and was built 8 years ago, after demolishing his first home.
Aleiwat said 7 people lived in the house (including 5 children).
