Jabal Al-Mukabber…A Jerusalemite self-demolishes his house
On Monday, the occupation municipality forced Ali Ja’abees to self-demolish his house in the village of Jabal Al-Mukabber under the pretext of building without a permit.
Ja’abees explained that he built his house about 6 months ago, and it has an area of 70 square meters, which is only one room built from wood, where he lives with his family of 6 people. The occupation municipality raided his house 2 days ago and gave him only 3 days to execute the demolition, sweep the land, and demolish the retaining wall surrounding the land, or else he will pay the "demolition fees" to the municipal staff.
Ja’abees added that he started dismantling the house on Monday and emptied its contents in order to avoid paying fines.
Ja'abees pointed out that the people of the area submitted a scheme to license the region, and despite this, the municipality continues to issue demolition orders against the locals’ facilities, and it implements the orders almost weekly.
