Demolishing an apartment and three commercial facilities in Issawiya and Shu’fat
On Tuesday, the occupation municipality's bulldozers demolished an apartment and 3 commercial facilities in the city of Jerusalem under the pretext of building without a permit.
Wadi Hilweh Information Center explained that joint crews of the occupation forces and the municipality carried out demolitions that began in the village of Issawiya in the early morning hours as students went to their schools, and in the afternoon hours, they demolished commercial facilities in Shu’fat.
Issawiya
The occupation’s bulldozers demolished an under-constructionapartment belonging to Hatem Khalil Hasan Abu Rayaleh which he began building about 6 months ago, and the court issued a demolition order, but he was able to freeze the demolition. Last week a session was held in court and it was postponed, according to the wife of the owner of the house.
Abu Rayaleh explained that the occupation municipality keeps on pursuing him with demolition orders, actual demolitions, arrests, fines and violations since 1999, as this is the fourth time that his house gets demolished on the pretext of unlicensed construction, noting that, according to the municipality’s departments, the land is "organized for construction."
Abu Rayaleh added: "In 2009, bulldozers demolished his house and then he fell to the ground during the demolition process, which resulted in a paraplegic. After that, he returned and built the house in partnership with his relatives and several months ago he added a floor, and today it was demolished."
Abu Rayaleh explained that he was sentenced to one year in prison "before he was paralyzed", on the pretext of not paying the unlicensed construction fine, and after serving his sentence and several days after his release, the municipality demolished the house.
He said: "I live on the first floor, and its foundations have certainly been damaged after the demolition process, and the road to it has become difficult due to accumulated rubble from the upper apartment, pointing out that his family and the family of his sister's son are on the first floor."
Shu’fat
The occupation forces demolished a car dealership and two car-washes in Shu’fat north of Jerusalem, owned by Maswadeh, Bader, and Abu Sneineh families.
The center pointed out that the occupation’s bulldozers demolished a car dealership owned by Azzam Maswadeh, that has an office made from tin plates, and also demolished the walls surrounding it.
The forces also demolished a carwash that has three rooms owned by Bashar Bader, and a second carwash owned by Kamal Abu Sneineh. They seized the “container" and demolished the walls.
Wadi Hilweh Information Center stated that Naser Za’atraself-demolished his house in Jabal Al-Mukabber following an order by the occupationmunicipality; 6 people lived in the house.
