Silwan and Issawiya…Settlers assault young men…clashes…arrests
On Thursday evening, the occupation forces arrested 6 Jerusalemites from Silwan and Issawiya.
Wadi Hilweh Information Center learned from eyewitnesses that settlers had verbally abused a group of young men who were present at Dung Gate - one of the gates of the Old City of Jerusalem - and intentionally provoked them with profanity. Meanwhile, a large number of occupation forces and police and special units arrived to the area and beat the young men and provided protection to the settlers.
Witnesses added that the forces arrested 4 young men, after beating them, and among the detainees was a young man walking on his crutch due to a broken leg. The detainees were: Nidal Abu Rmeileh, Haitham Ramadan, Malik Abu Sway and Ahmed Swaidan.
In the village of Issawiya, the Israeli occupation forces stormed the village, and heavilyfired sound grenades and rubber bullets, while the youths responded by throwing stones and firecrackers.
The center learned that the occupation forces arrested the youth Mustafa Al-Afifi, after targeting him with a rubber bullet in the leg, and severely beat him on the face and head. The forces prevented the Palestinian ambulance from examining him and providing him with treatment while he was being held in the field. Then, the Israeli ambulance came and transferred him to hospital before transferring him to the investigation center.
The forces also arrested Ziad Abu Rayaleh after storming his house in the village.
In Jabal Al-Mukabber, the occupation forces arrested Karim Abu Kaf after storming his house in the early morning hours.
