Silwan- The occupation municipality orders Aqeel family to self-demolish its home
The occupation municipality forced Ihab Aqeel to self-demolish his house, in the neighborhood of Karam Al-Sheikh in Silwan, under the pretext of building without a permit.
After midnight, Aqeel demolished his under-construction house with the help of family members. He started building the house last April from reinforced tin and tin plates, and moved in with his family. He dismantled the walls and ceilings.
Aqeel explained that the municipality crews stormed the building last July and summoned him for investigation, and when he went to the municipality and gave his statement, they informed him of the intention to set a session to consider the house issue, only to be surprised last Sunday by the crews storming the place again and informing him of the final decision to demolish it. They gave him 4 days to implement the decision.
Aqeel added that the area of the house is 80 square meters.
