Al-Aqsa - Suppression of a march condemning the insult to the Prophet (PBUH), injuries and dozens of arrests
On Friday, the occupation forces suppressed a march in Al-Aqsa Mosque, denouncing the insult to the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him.
The forces fired rubber bullets heavily towards those in Al-Aqsa courtyards, after getting stationed at Al-Silsileh Gate - one of the gates of Al-Aqsa -, injuring 9 Palestinians, 3 of whom were taken to hospital for treatment - as explained by the Palestinian Red Crescent.
Among the injuries in Al-Aqsa were: journalist Sundos Aweis (in the head), and journalist Latifa Abdel-Latif (in the leg).
The march started from the Al-Aqsa courtyards towards the gates, and when it reached Al-Silsileh Gate and tried to exit towards the Old City to Damascus Gate, the forces deployed in the place, fired rubber bullets, dispersed the demonstrators, and the young men responded with throwing stones at the soldiers, chanting slogans in support of the Prophet.
The occupation forces deployed in the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque and carried out arrests, as well as arresting boys and young men from the gates of Al-Aqsa and from the roads of the Old City.
Firas Al-Jabrini, lawyer for the Wadi Hilweh Information Center - Jerusalem, explained that the forces carried out arrests from Al-Aqsa Mosque and its gates, in addition to arrests from the streets of the Old City and Damascus Gate area, and several charges were brought against them, most notably the "attack on police personnel, throwing stones, participating in confrontations, and obstructing the work of the police.”
Al-Jabrini added that the detainees are: Amir Abu Zeina, Ibrahim Ayyash, Adam Alawi, Adham Ajlouni, Ahmed Ighbaryeh, Nu’man Abu Sneineh, Oday Al-A’war, Suhaib Odeh, Abdul-Wahhab Jbareen, Mansour Fadila, Muhammad Ighbaryeh, Abdul Rahman Taha, Mahdi Attoun, Ishaq Al-Razem, Tamer Jaber, Saif Abu Rmeileh, Yazan Jaber, Issam Attoun, Omar Muhammad Ali and Dujana Attoun.
