Demolishing a residential apartment for the Abbasi family and displacing its residents…beating and arrest
The Israeli occupation municipality staff demolished on Tuesday an apartment for the Abbasi family, in Al-Sweih neighborhood in Silwan, south of Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Wadi Hilweh Information Center - Jerusalem stated that the occupation forces, accompanied by municipality crews, stormed Al-Sweih neighborhood in Silwan, and stormed the Abbasi family building after attacking the residents, then raided the house of Fadel Abbasi, "the third floor", and expelled the residents from it, to implement the demolition decision.
Fadel Abbasi - the owner of the house - explained that the municipality raided the house and demolished it without warning, despite the lawyer informing them of the existence of a session during the coming period to discuss the issue of the house, and they refused to give the family any time to take out the contents and furniture, as the workers proceeded to do so and destroyed the furniture and threw it everywhere.
Abbasi added that the house has an area of 60 square meters, and 4 people live in it, including the child Salah and his brother Mohammad.
Eyewitnesses explained to the center that the forces assaulted those present with severe beatings, shoving, and pepper gas, to carry out the demolition.
The occupation forces also arrested 4 young men from the Abbasi family, among them were: Mohammad Mahmoud Abbasi, Khalil Mohammad Abbasi, Saeed Noman Abbasi, and Saif Mahmoud Abbasi, as stated by the lawyer of Wadi Hilweh Information Center, Firas al-Jabrini.
