On Tuesday evening, lawyer Mohammad Mahmoud talked about the details of what happened on the eighth of this month in the village of Al-Isawiya, about the incident of "the police shooting, closing the village for several hours, and carrying out arrests of young men."
Wadi Hilweh Information Center, quoting his lawyer, Muhammad Mahmoud, who is following up on the file of the seven detainees that were arrested in relation to the incident, stated that a white private vehicle of the type “Seat” that emits loud music, entered Al-Isawiya last Wednesday evening, and as soon as it reached a street between the Alyan and Abu Al-Hummos neighborhoods, one of its passengers fired 17 bullets in the air randomly and towards homes, and some bullets penetrated the homes of the Alayan family.
Lawyer Muhammad Mahmoud added that the people rushed to chase after the vehicle to find out who had fired the shot, knowing that the vehicle headed towards the "French Hill" neighborhood, and the driver dropped off a policeman and his escort and then continued on his way.
Lawyer Muhammad Mahmoud explained that the forces arrested 7 people from Al-Isawiya, on charges of “assaulting the police and causing them damage.” They are: Majed Abu Al-Hummos, Saleh Abu Al-Hummos, Wadih Alayan, Aziz Alayan, Youssef Alayan, Ahmed Alayan, and Muhammad Dari. The police released today Ahmed Alayan, on condition of a 7-day home confinement and a cash guarantee of 1,000 Shekels.
Lawyer Muhammad Mahmoud added that during the court sessions held for the detainees, it was found that the policemen were drunk, they entered Al-Isawiya without reason and without an order, for unknown reasons and without any official mission, and fired 17 bullets at the houses randomly.
During the session held today, the judge stressed to the detainees that the bullets were fired illegally and without justification, and there is no order to enter the village at the time.
And since last Wednesday, the occupation authorities, with their various institutions, have launched a campaign of attacks on the village of Al-Isawiya, by setting up roadblocks in the streets and at the entrances, storming shops, imposing taxes and confiscating goods, and carrying out various arrests and summons.
