Silwan- arrests and clashes, and the use of live bullets
The occupation forces arrested, at dawn Wednesday, two boys, after storming their homes in the town of Silwan in Jerusalem.
The Wadi Hilweh Information Center - Jerusalem stated that the occupation forces stormed neighborhoods in the town of Silwan, and arrested the two boys, Ibrahim Farroukh and Qassam Al-A’war, after raiding their homes.
On the other hand, the Batn al-Hawa neighborhood witnessed violent confrontations late Tuesday evening, during which dozens were injured with suffocation and by shrapnel from sound grenades and rubber bullets.
In an interview conducted by the Wadi Hilweh Information Center with Zuhair Al-Rajabi, head of the Batn Al-Hawa Neighborhood Committee, the settlers attacked the residents of Batn Al-Hawa, "young men and children" while they were in front of their homes, which led to altercations between the settlers, their guards, and the forces who attacked the residents.
Al-Rajabi added that the forces and the settlers' guards fired live bullets extensively and randomly in the middle of the Batn al-Hawa neighborhood.
The forces also fired sound grenades, rubber bullets, and gas bombs in the neighborhood, targeting residents' homes and vehicles.
Kayed Al-Rajabi, a member of the "Batn Al-Hawa Neighborhood committee”, explained to the center that the settlers' guards attacked the residents, spraying pepper gas at them and beating them, then they fired shots randomly in the area.
Al-Rajabi said that the attacks by settlers, their guards, and the forces are repeated almost daily in the Batn al-Hawa neighborhood, "attacks targeting the residents and their properties." As residents, we submit complaints to the competent authorities, but they do not move a finger, while the forces carry out arrests and attacks on a permanent basis in the neighborhood under various pretexts.
The center indicated that dozens of residents suffered from suffocation, and some were injured by shrapnel from rubber bullets and sound grenades in the back and limbs.
