On Sunday evening, the Abu Tayeh family began self-demolishing their house in Silwanby a decision from the occupation municipality.
The Jerusalemite, Umm Bashar Abu Tayeh, explained that she and her three children have been living in the house for years, and the municipality issued the final demolition decision last week, and the police came to the house to inform her that the demolition would be carried out as soon as possible.
The Abu Tayeh family explained that Ms. Umm Bashar vacated the house and emptied its contents at the end of last week, and began on Sunday evening the process of self-demolition of the internal walls, and the demolition process will be completed on Monday.
Mrs. Umm Bashar is a widow and this is the only shelter that shelters her and her children, but in order to avoid paying any new fines or violations, she was forced to implement the demolition decision with her own hands.
The area of the house is 60 square meters, and it has been in existence for 12 years, and for 10 years Mrs. Abu Tayeh has been trying to license it, but to no avail.
Last Friday, the Darwish family self-demolished a barracks in the village of Issawiya, by a decision of the occupation municipality.
Last Thursday, the municipality forced the Sharaf family to self-demolish their "under construction" house in Silwan, refusing to postpone and freeze the demolition decision.
