September 20, 2022

On Tuesday, the Occupation Court rejected the appeal submitted by the family of martyr Fadi al-Qunbar, against the decision to withdraw the “temporary residency and identities” of 11 members of the family.

The Minister of the Interior in the occupation government, AyeletShaked, published on her account today: “Based on the decision of the Court of Appeal, I instructed to invalidate the residencies of members of the al-Qunbar family, whose son killed 4 soldiers,” as it was published.

The al-Qunbar family explained that the rejection of the appeal threatens the presence of 11 family members in their homes in the city of Jerusalem, and means dispersal of families, whose members hold “Israeli identity cards, including those who lived in the city with temporary identities or residency.”

The family added that the decision threatens the martyr's cousins and nephews.

The occupation authorities handed over to the family members of the martyr Fadi al-Qunbar, immediately after his martyrdom in 2017, “decisions to withdraw residency, temporary identities, and family unification procedures.”Those affected filed appeals to the competent courts to keep them in Jerusalem, and were able to be present and move around in the city for the past period by court decisions, but today's decision prevents them from doing so.

The occupation authorities continue to detain the body of martyr Fadi al-Qunbar in refrigerators.
