After the arrests and the withdrawal of his "identity" - the deportation of the Jerusalemite prisoner Salah Al-Hammouri to France
December 18, 2022

After a continuous pursuit for 21 years, the occupation authorities implemented at dawnSunday, their decision to deport the Jerusalemite prisoner Salah Al-Hammouri from his homeland, after withdrawing his identity under the pretext of "posing a threat to the security of the occupying state, his disloyalty to it and his activity in the Popular Front."

From Hadarim Prison, "where Al-Hammouri was serving administrative detention", to Lod Airport and then to France, this is how the occupation authorities imposed Al-Hammouri's last steps in his country.

Salah Al-Hammouri, 37 years old, holds an “Israeli” identity. He was born, raised, and studied in Jerusalem. He also holds “French nationality” from his French mother. Over the past 21 years, he was arrested several times, and denied stability with his wife in Jerusalem after her deportation to France. A decision was issued to withdraw his identity and deport him which was implemented this morning.

In a previous interview with Al-Hammouri, he explained the persecution he was subjected to:

• In 2001, the first arrest for a period of 5 months

• In 2004, he was placed under administrative detention for 4 months

• In 2005, he was arrested for 7 years

• In 2017,he was placed under administrative detention for a period of 13 months

• In 2016, the occupation deported Al-Hammouri's wife for 10 years from the Palestinian territories, after detaining her at Lod Airport for 3 days, during her return to her home in Jerusalem, and she was seven months pregnant.

• In 2017: Salah Al-Hammouri was re-arrested for 13 months, "administrative detention".

• In 2020, he was arrested for a week.

• In 2020, he was summoned for interrogation, and he was handed a decision by the Minister of Interior to revoke his Israeli identity.

• In 2021, the Judicial Adviser and the Minister of Justice approved the decision to withdraw the identity of Al-Hammouri.

• In March2022, Al-Hammouri was arrested after storming his house in Kufor Aqab, then he was transferred to administrative detention for a period of 3 months, and in June2022the decision was renewed for a period of 3 months, and the renewal was repeated last September, and at the end of the administrative detention period he was informed of the decision to deport him to France directly from prison.  The decision was implemented at dawn Sunday, noting that the court recently decided to keep Al-Hammouri in prison until the beginning of next January to make a decision on the deportation decision.

During his release from prisons, the occupation turned Al-Hammouri’s life in Jerusalem into a prison, by preventing him from traveling and preventing him from entering the West Bank for several periods.
