An increase in the number of arrests from Jerusalem since the beginning of the year

On Friday, the occupation police carried out separate arrests from the city of Jerusalem.

The Wadi Hilweh Information Center / Jerusalem stated that the police arrested the Jerusalemite activist Mohammad Abu al-Hummus from Damascus Gate area in the city, while he was walking with the Palestinian flag.

The lawyer of the Wadi Hilweh Information Center, Firas al-Jabrini, explained that the police released activist Abu al-Hummus after several hours, on the condition that he be expelled from Damascus Gate and Herods Gate areas.

From the Lions Gate area in Jerusalem, the forces arrested 4 Jerusalemites, beat and pushed them during their arrest and detention inside the detention center.

The center learned that the detainees are: Mohammad Obeidat, Tariq Mashahra, Abdul Rahman Amr, and Zaki Dana.

On the one hand, lawyer Al-Jabrini pointed to an increase in the number of detainees from the city of Jerusalem, since the beginning of this year, as about 45 cases of arrest of boys and children "under 12 years" were recorded.

Al-Jabrini added that among the detainees was the boy Abdullah Obaid, who was arrested and shot during his arrest by the Musta’ribeen individuals (undercover police unit).  After several days, he was released and transferred to house arrest, which was renewed yesterday for 8 days. The forces also arrested several children between 10-13 years old.

Al-Jabrini added K yesterday evening release the boys Muhammad Khalil al-Salaymeh, Mutaz Khader al-Salaymeh, Mustafa Aql al-Salaymeh, and Ayham Nawaf al-Salaymeh, on the condition of house arrest for 5 days and signing a bail. They were arrested several hours ago from Ras Al-Amoud neighborhood in Silwan 

Al-Jabrini added that the intelligence carried out several arrests, especially from the Ras al-Amoud neighborhood in the town of Silwan, mostly school students.
