Occupation bulldozers demolish 5 establishments in the city of Jerusalem
On Wednesday, the occupation municipality demolished residential, commercial, and animal facilities in Jabal Al-Mukabber village, in Jerusalem.
On Wednesday morning, bulldozers demolished two apartments for the two brothers, Firas and Ali Shqeirat, with a total area of 220 square meters, in which 9 people live, including 5 children. Financial fines of 80,000 shekels were imposed on the family, in an attempt to authorize and freeze demolition decisions, until the municipality issued a final demolition decision about a week ago, which it was implemented on Wednesday.
In the afternoon hours, the municipality's bulldozers demolished a facility belonging to the Abbasi family, which was a residential facility that the family converted several years ago into a commercial one, in an attempt not to demolish and license it, as demanded by the municipality.
Issa Abbasi explained that the building has been in existence for 10 years, and the municipality issued the demolition decision 7 years ago, during which the family was able to postpone and freeze the demolition decisions, and in 2020 a financial fine of 50,000 shekels was imposed on the family.
Abbasi said: "Last March, the municipal court issued a decision to freeze the demolition until mid-September, but two days ago we were informed of the cancellation of the "freezing decision" after the municipality went to the court, without the family's knowledge of the matter. They stormed the place today and implemented the decision without prior warning.
The occupation bulldozers also demolished a barracks belonging to the Al-Sarkhi family in the village of Jabal Al-Mukabber, and hung an "administrative demolition order" on the family's house.
