Day 27: Al-Aqsa Flood Operation in the city of Jerusalem

On the 27th day of “Al-Aqsa Flood Operation”, the young man Yazan Othman Shiha, from the town of Anata, was martyred, and the occupation authorities carried out a campaign of arrests against Palestinians from the Gaza Strip after storming Al-Maqased Hospital. The siege imposed on Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Old City continued, as well as the raids on towns and neighborhoods, and a demolition operation was carried out in city.

A martyr in Anata

The young man, Yazan Othman Shiha, 23 years old, was shot dead by the occupation forces during a raid on the city of Al-Bireh.

The martyr was transferred from the Palestine Medical Complex in the city of Ramallah to his home in the town of Anata, then the funeral began in the streets of the town and the martyr was buried in the town’s cemetery.

In the evening hours, the occupation forces stormed the town of Anata and the Shu’fat refugee camp, stormed the funeral home for the martyr Shiha, assaulted the mourners, and prevented the establishment of a funeral home.

Clashes broke out in the streets of the town of Anata and the Shu’fat refugee camp, and the forces fired live bullets and gas bombs extensively, and closed the entrance to Anata and the Shu’fat camp checkpoint.

A comprehensive strike took place in the town of Anata, in mourning for the martyr Shiha.

Storming Al-Maqased Hospital and arresting people from Gaza

The occupation forces stormed Al-Maqased Hospital in the town of Al-Tur, and arrested Palestinians from the Gaza Strip, who are accompanying patients from the Gaza Strip, and who have been in the hospital for months.

The Wadi Hilweh Information Center - Jerusalem explained that large forces stormed Al-Maqased Hospital from all its entrances, and a force was stationed at its main and internal gates, and ascended its roofs, then police teams were distributed in all departments of the hospital.

The center added that the forces carried out arrests of people from the Gaza Strip.

Siraj Abu Arafeh, the lawyer of the Wadi Hilweh Information Center - Jerusalem, explained that the arrests included 12 Palestinians from Al-Maqased Hospital... 11 people from the Gaza Strip, 1 from the city of Ramallah, and the pretext for the arrest was “illegal presence in Jerusalem.”

Lawyer Abu Arafeh added that among the detainees were 7 women, 4 men, and a 10-year-old child, and the ages of the detainees ranged between 30 and 70 years.

Lawyer Abu Arafeh explained that the detainees were transferred to the Salah al-Din Street police station for investigation, and after several hours, the police extended the detention of two young men for 96 hours, while the rest were released and deported to the West Bank “at the Qalandia checkpoint.”

Siege of Al-Aqsa

The siege continued on Al-Aqsa Mosque, imposing severe restrictions on entry to it, preventing young people from entering and praying in it, placing restrictions on the entry of the elderly, and subjecting all visitors to inspection.

The incursions into Al-Aqsa Mosque continued through the Dung Gate, whose keys have been controlled by the occupation authorities since the occupation of Jerusalem, and 163 settlers stormed Al-Aqsa.

The forces are still deployed at the gates of Al-Aqsa and the Old City and in the surrounding streets, and they are searching young men and women, checking identities, and conducting field inspections and investigations.

The raids on the town and neighborhoods in Jerusalem also continued, and mobile checkpoints were established in several streets.

Demolition

Municipal vehicles carried out a demolition operation of barracks and a fence in the town of Beit Hanina, north of Jerusalem, under the pretext of building without a permit. The facility belongs to the Darwish family.
