Self-demolition
The municipality forced Dr. Nidal Alayan to self-demolish his residential building, in the village of Issawiya, under the pretext of building without a permit.
Alayan explained that the building consists of two floors, includes 4 residential apartments, and he tried to issue a building permit 6 months ago, pointing out that he carried out the construction "according to the requirements of the municipality and the conditions of the permit", but the municipality refused it, and issued the demolition order, so he had to carry it out to avoid paying "financial fines/ demolition fee" and in order not to cause damage to the neighboring houses.
The municipality forced the Al-Qaq family to self-demolish a room in the Ein Al-Lozeh neighborhood in the town of Silwan, under the pretext of building without a permit.
Sami Al-Qaq said that the room that was demolished today is the remaining building from two houses that were demolished 5 years ago, as the municipality came back 9 months ago and issued a demolition order for the room.
