Day 166: Jerusalem during “Al-Aqsa Flood” Operation
On the 166th day of "Al-Aqsa Flood Operation", the Israeli occupation authorities decided to deport 20 Palestinian children from Gaza who were receiving treatment in Jerusalem and Israel, and the settlers organized a march in front of the headquarters of the UNRWA, and another march on Al-Wad Street "on the occasion of Purim", while the incursions continued into the towns and neighborhoods in Jerusalem, and tens of thousands of worshipers flocked to Al-Aqsa Mosque on the tenth day of Ramadan.
The threat of deporting patients from Gaza
Israeli media said that it was decided to deport 20 Palestinian children from Gaza suffering from cancer, receiving treatment in Jerusalem and Israel, at the "Augusta Victoria and Tel Hashomer" hospitals.
The "Doctors for Human Rights" organization presented a petition to the Supreme Court not to deport the patients receiving treatment.
The Supreme Court issued a temporary order and froze the transfer of 13 patients from one of the East Jerusalem hospitals to Gaza, pending a response to the petition.
Demonstration in front of "UNRWA"
The settlers organized a sit-in in front of the UNRWA headquarters in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood of Jerusalem, for the second time in two days.
Bags were placed on the agency's gate "pointing to the bodies", placing and raising Israeli flags, carrying slogans against the agency, most notably "UNRWA is Hamas"... "headquarters of terrorism", and chanting slogans calling for the closure of the agency's headquarters.
The demonstrators also incited against the "Agency school" in the town of Silwan, describing it as "a place that poses a danger to the settlers" in the town, noting that dozens of outposts are inside the town.
March on the occasion of "Purim" holiday
In the evening hours, the settlers organized a march on Al-Wad Street in the Old City of Jerusalem, on the occasion of the "Purim” holiday.
The settlers raised the Israeli flag and the balloons in the colors of the flag, and dressed in costumes for the occasion of the holiday.
The forces spread out around the march, as they placed the iron barriers in the roads.
Break-ins and arrests
The forces continued the incursions into the towns and neighborhoods in the city of Jerusalem, carried out various arrests, and set up checkpoints.
Firas Al-Jabrini, a lawyer for the Wadi Hilweh Information Center - Jerusalem, explained that 7 Jerusalemites were arrested from Silwan, Al-Aqsa and the Old City of Jerusalem, during the past hours, pointing out that the forces stormed Silwan at dawn and carried out arrests after storming the houses, while arrests were carried out from Al-Aqsa in conjunction with the Evening “call to prayer” and the young men breaking their fast.
In the evening hours, the forces arrested a young man from the Herods Gate area after assaulting him with a severe beating.
In the afternoon hours, the forces stormed Silwan and arrested the young man Ahmed al-Rajabi, and arrested Ziad Iyad Alayan, from "Modi'in" road, and turned him over for investigation in the cells.
Demolition of a room and commercial facility
In the village of Issawiya, the municipality forced Mahmoud Derbas to self-demolish "a room and its benefits and a commercial establishment", under the pretext of building without a license.
Al-Aqsa Mosque
The settlers' incursions into Al-Aqsa Mosque continued, and 102 settlers carried out their incursions into Al-Aqsa, in the form of successive groups, guarded by the Israeli police, while the "alleged Temple groups" called for organizing incursions into Al-Aqsa next week on the "Purim" holiday.
The worshipers continued to flock to Al-Aqsa, to perform the prayers there, and 30 thousand worshippers performed the Ishaa and Taraweeh prayers - according to the Islamic Endowments Department -.
And those expelled and prohibited from entering the Al-Aqsa, performed the Ishaa and Taraweeh prayers on the road of the Mujahideen "between the gates of the Lions and Hutta".
The forces also continued to place barriers and set up checkpoints at the gates of Al-Aqsa, and on its roads.
Release on the condition of deportation
The Jerusalemite Emad Adnan al-Sha'er finished his 11-year sentence today, and the administration of Nafha prison released him, while the intelligence services transferred him to the "Rooms 4" police station, and demanded from his family not to go to the prison as he will be transferred to Jerusalem.
After detaining the freed prisoner Al-Shaer in "Rooms 4", he was released on the condition that he be deported from the city of Jerusalem until Sunday.
Al-Shaer met his child Reda and was able to see and hug him for the first time outside the prison, as he was arrested while his wife was pregnant.
