Day 288 Jerusalem during “Al-Aqsa Flood” Operation
On the 288th day of "Al-Aqsa Flood Operation", a family from the village of Jabal Al-Mukabber was forced to self-demolish their home, while the forces set up checkpoints and iron barriers in a number of roads in Jerusalem to secure “settlers’ visits” to Jewish cemeteries in the city, and raids continued in the city.
Demolition and displacement
The occupation municipality forced the young man, Ahmed Al-Qunbar, to self-demolish his house in the village of Jabal Al-Mukabber in Jerusalem, under the pretext of building without a permit.
Ahmed Al-Qunbar, said: “There is no future after the demolition of the house. The children are displaced and we have no shelter. It is not possible to talk about and describe how we demolish our homes with our own hands.”
The area of the house is approximately 90 square meters, 6 people live in it, and it has been in place for 7 years.
The Al-Qunbar family pointed out that the original building existed 40 years ago and was a warehouse, and years ago it was restored and expanded for living in it, and building violations amounting to “200 thousand shekels” were imposed on it.
Over the past few days, the family has emptied their house and dismantled the windows and doors, and today they were forced to self-demolish it.
Iron barriers and barricades in Jerusalem
The occupation police set up barricades and iron barriers in the area of Ras Al-Amoud and Al-Tur Road, in preparation for Jews visiting the Jewish cemeteries in the Mount of Olives area.
The police announced the closure of a number of streets tomorrow, during the visit to the cemeteries.
The police also towed a number of vehicles parked on Gethsemane Road, to place iron barriers.
The raids on towns and neighborhoods in Jerusalem continued, and police continued to set up checkpoints as well.
