Day 341 Jerusalem during “Al-Aqsa Flood” Operation
On the 341st day of "Al-Aqsa Flood Operation", the Ja’abis family self-demolished their home in Jabal Al-Mukabber village, and the forces attacked the residents of Shu’fat refugee camp with tear gas, while the settlers continued their raids and prayers in Al-Aqsa Mosque.
The Ja’abis family explained that the occupation municipality forced them to self-demolish their home in Jabal Al-Mukabber, under the pretext of building without a permit, noting that the area of the house is 40 square meters and it is under construction.
264 settlers stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque during the morning and afternoon incursion periods, and performed prayers during the storming of the mosque.
In the afternoon hours, coinciding with the end of the school day in Shu’fat refugee camp, the forces stormed the streets of the camp and spread out in several areas, and removed the Palestinian flags and banners, and during that they threw tear gas bombs heavily in the streets of the camp.
The forces also continued to storm the towns and neighborhoods in the city of Jerusalem, and the forces raided a number of homes in Issawiya and Silwan.
On the other hand, the occupation authorities reopened "Al-Rashid Street" after closing it since last October, by removing the iron barriers, the watchtower and the cement cubes. The occupation authorities had closed the main entrance to Al-Rashid Street with iron barriers and placed cement cubes in the middle of it, and placed two observation platforms at the entrance to the police station and erected Israeli flags around it. Over the past 10 months, vehicles were prevented from entering the closed section, while the forces stopped pedestrians, checked their IDs and forced them to lift their clothes for a body search. The closure of the street also negatively affected the shops in the area due to the constant police presence at the site, in addition to obstructing patients from easily reaching a medical center located in the middle of the street.
As for the Ghaith family in the town of Silwan, they live in anxiety and fear, and the threat of displacement and expulsion is now haunting them, after they received in the morning hours a decision from the Supreme Court, which approved the process of evicting the family from their property in favor of the settlers.
Salem Ghaith, the owner of the property, explained that the family has been living there since 1979, but the court ruled that the land belongs to the settlers, and noted that the property consists of two floors and its total area is 50 square meters.
Ghaith added that the settlers began pursuing him since 2015.
Zuhair Al-Rajabi, head of the Batn Al-Hawa neighborhood committee, explained that the "Ateret Cohanim" association claims that 5200 square meters of Batn Al-Hawa neighborhood land belonged to Jews from Yemen since 1881, and the association began in 2015 to deliver notices and judicial notices to the families in the Batn Al-Hawa neighborhood to evict them from their homes, and in recent months the implementation of eviction decisions against the families began, as the building of the Shehadeh family and a property of the Abu Nab family were seized.
Al-Rajabi, head of the Batn al-Hawa neighborhood committee, explained that 87 families, comprising between 600-680 people, are threatened with eviction in the Batn al-Hawa neighborhood, and are facing judicial decisions and notifications in the “Magistrate, District, and Supreme” courts.
