Day 345 Jerusalem during “Al-Aqsa Flood” Operation
September 15, 2024

On the 345th day of "Al-Aqsa Flood Operation", a young man was martyred by the occupation forces, under the pretext of carrying out a stabbing operation in the Old City of Jerusalem, while the Alayan family was forced to self-demolish their home with their own hands in the town of Beit Safafa, and the raids on towns and neighborhoods in the city of Jerusalem continued, while Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called for "a special discussion tomorrow regarding the so-called status quo in Al-Aqsa".

A martyr in Jerusalem

In the evening hours, the young man Zayed Abu Sbeih, 33 years old, from "Araara al-Naqab", was martyred after being shot in the Damascus Gate area.

The police said in a statement that the young man carried out a stabbing operation against a police officer, and the latter was slightly injured, while the forces pursued the young man and shot him.

The forces completely closed the area around the shooting of the young man, and removed all citizens from the area, and assaulted some by pushing them, and forced those present in the Damascus Gate area to evacuate the area, and prevented entry into or exit from the Old City, and during that time closed the gates of Al-Aqsa Mosque, and prevented entry into it.

The forces also carried out scattered arrests from the Old City and the streets of Jerusalem.

The worshipers performed Friday prayers on the doorsteps of the Old City and Al-Aqsa, as the closing of the mosque coincided with the time of the Ishaa prayer.

The forces also thoroughly searched a vehicle in the Al-Musrara area.

A session "to discuss the situation in Al-Aqsa"

The Prime Minister of the occupation government, Benjamin Netanyahu, called for a special discussion tomorrow regarding the so-called "status quo" in Al-Aqsa, after warnings from officials regarding the statements of Internal Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gavir, who called in recent days to change the status quo in Al-Aqsa and build a synagogue and allow Jews to pray in it.

Demolition, displacement and confiscation of land

The Alayan family self-demolished their home in the village of Beit Safafa.

The Alayan family explained that the courts issued a decision to demolish the house and confiscate the land on which the building was built, in addition to paying nearly a million shekels "for use of the land", over the past years.

The Alayan family explained that they have been fighting for years in the courts to protect the house from demolition and the land from confiscation and seizure. At noon, a session was held in an attempt to appeal the demolition decision, but the judge refused any postponement or extension and ordered the immediate demolition of the property.

The family added that the deadline for implementing the demolition ends today and the forces stormed the house in the morning and demanded that we implement it, otherwise the case will be transferred to the so-called "Execution Department".

The homes and lands of the Alayan family are the only remaining Arab properties in one of the Beit Safafa areas, and are surrounded by settlement projects and plans to implement more of them in the area. The demolition of the house and the confiscation of the land and another plot surrounding it are for the construction of settlement units in the area "buildings for settlers"; noting that other plots of land were confiscated from the family during the past years to pave streets and implement buildings to serve the settlers.

The family pointed out that the house has been standing for 23 years, its area is 120 square meters, and it was built on the family's land, which has full papers confirming its ownership.

The family said: "The stone can be recovered and today there is a new battle to protect the land from confiscation."

Raids

The raids on towns and neighborhoods in the city of Jerusalem continued, and in the evening hours, a number of towns were raided and checkpoints were set up in their streets and at their entrances, especially Silwan, Issawiya and Anata.
