December 29, 2024

On the 450th day of "Al-Aqsa Flood” operation, hundreds of settlers stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque and prayed there, while hundreds of arrests were made of Palestinians holding West Bank IDs "under the pretext of entering and residing in Jerusalem illegally", and the forces continued to storm towns and neighborhoods in the city.

Al-Aqsa Mosque…Storming and Prayers

366 settlers stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque on the fourth day of the Jewish Hanukkah/Festival of Lights holiday, through the Dung Gate, whose keys have been controlled by the occupation authorities since the occupation of Jerusalem.

The settlers performed their collective and public prayers in Al-Aqsa Mosque, and a group of them celebrated a "wedding for two newlyweds" in Al-Aqsa and carried them on their shoulders amidst a circle of dancing and singing in the mosque.

Police and special forces were deployed in Al-Aqsa during the morning and afternoon incursion periods, and accompanied the settlers during the storming and prayer in the mosque.

The forces were also stationed at the gates of Al-Aqsa, and prevented young men and women from entering Al-Aqsa during the storming.

Arrests and closure of facilities

The Israeli police said in a statement that during the past week they arrested 299 Palestinians who were in Jerusalem "illegally", and 33 suspects who provided them with assistance.

The police said that the police closed construction sites due to the illegal presence of Palestinians from the West Bank, and in one of the sites they arrested 14 people.

Raids

The forces continued to raid towns and neighborhoods in the city of Jerusalem, setting up police checkpoints, carrying out arrests and delivering summonses.

Demolition

On Saturday, the Jerusalemite Ibrahim Mashahra emptied the contents of his apartment in the village of Jabal Al-Mukabber in Jerusalem, in order to implement the decision to demolish it.

Mashahra built his house 13 years ago with an area of 70 square meters, and 6 people live in it.

The municipality imposed a fine on him for "unlicensed construction" in the amount of 55 thousand shekels.
