Day 462: Jerusalem during the “Al-Aqsa Flood” operation
On the 462nd day of Al-Aqsa Flood operation, a family in Silwan carried out a decision to demolish their home, and the occupation authorities continued to impose restrictions on the entry of worshipers to Al-Aqsa to perform the dawn and Friday prayers, and the raids on towns and neighborhoods in the city of Jerusalem continued.
Demolition in Silwan
The Jerusalemite Shadi Sumrein self-demolished his home in the Wadi al-Rababeh neighborhood in the town of Silwan, under the pretext of building without a permit.
Sumrein said that he built his home in 2014, and in the past years the municipality issued demolition decisions and imposed fines on him under the pretext of building without a permit. He committed to paying the fines and was able to postpone and freeze the demolition decision, until a municipal employee placed the final demolition decision on the house a few days ago and it has to be implemented within 21 days, and in the event that the decision is not implemented, the municipality's bulldozers will do so and he must pay the costs of the "demolition fee" to the municipality and the accompanying police.
Sumrein said that despite the difficulty of the self-demolition decision, he chose it to avoid causing any damage to the family's old home "below his house", which is considered one of the oldest homes in the town of Silwan.
Al-Aqsa Mosque
The forces continued to impose restrictions on the entry of worshipers to Al-Aqsa to perform the Friday dawn and noon prayers; by setting up police barriers and deploying policemen at the gates of Al-Aqsa and the Old City and on all roads leading to Al-Aqsa.
The forces stopped young men and boys while they were heading to Al-Aqsa, and prevented hundreds of them from entering it.
Those who were deported from Al-Aqsa and the young men performed the prayer at the gates of Al-Aqsa and on the roads after being prevented from entering the mosque.
The Islamic Endowments Department said that 50 thousand worshipers performed the Friday Noon prayer in Al-Aqsa Mosque
