Israeli Intelligence arrests a Jerusalemite couple, deports the wife to West Bank after 21 years in Jerusalem
Israeli intelligence arrested a Jerusalemite couple on Wednesday after raiding their home in the town of Silwan.
The Wadi Hilweh Information Center in Jerusalem reported that Israeli intelligence surrounded Khaled al-Zeer while he was with his son in front of their home in the town of Silwan, and then raided his home.
The center explained that intelligence officers arrested the al-Zeer couple and transferred them to the O’z police station in Jabal al-Mukabber.
The center added, quoting Khaled al-Zeer after his release, that after he and his wife were detained at the police station, interrogated, and threatened several times, citing his work in cleaning the Silwan Children's Cemetery, the police decided to release them. However, the condition was that the wife, "Umm Hussein" (40 years old), be deported to the West Bank, on the grounds that she was residing illegally in Jerusalem because she held a West Bank ID.
The Israeli intelligence vehicle took the wife to a military checkpoint at the entrance to Jerusalem, without providing any further information about the checkpoint.
The al-Zeer couple have lived in Silwan for 21 years and have seven children, boys and girls, the oldest is 21 years old and the youngest is 7.
