A young man was shot and wounded by Israeli occupation forces on Tuesday in the Dahiyat al-Salam area of the Shu’fat refugee camp, northeast of Jerusalem.

This morning, Israeli occupation forces stormed the Dahiyat al-Salam neighborhood in the Shu’fat refugee camp and carried out a large-scale demolition operation targeting a residential building. The operation included gunfire, which resulted in a young man being seriously injured.

Eyewitnesses reported that large forces had surrounded a three-story under-construction residential building in the Dahiyat al-Salam neighborhood of the Shu’fat refugee camp since the early morning hours. The building, which includes eight apartments, commercial stores, and a parking lot, belongs to the Ghaith and Abu Shamsia families, on the pretext of building without a permit.

During the demolition operation, which lasted approximately nine hours, occupation forces fired live and rubber bullets, used sound bombs and tear gas, and assaulted the locals.

Witnesses reported hearing heavy gunfire during the demolition operation, and it was later discovered that there were injuries at the scene. In a statement, Israeli police said that the "Musta'ribeen" unit (undercover police) opened fire at "suspects," seriously wounding a young man who was taken to the hospital.
