The injury of a Jerusalemite man by occupation’s bullets in Silwan
October 8, 2025

Mahmoud Farroukh, a 28-year-old Jerusalemite, was shot and wounded by Israeli occupation forces after midnight last night in the Wadi Hilweh neighborhood of Silwan, south of Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The Wadi Hilweh Information Center in Jerusalem explained that residents heard successive gunfire after midnight. When they tried to determine what had happened, they found a young man injured and lying on the ground. Israeli occupation forces prevented any residents from approaching or offering him assistance.

The center added that Israeli occupation forces stormed the neighborhood in large numbers, sealed off the area surrounding the young man's injury, and conducted field investigations before transporting him for treatment.

In a statement, Israeli police said the young man was seriously injured after being pursued while driving a vehicle and "refusing to stop." They claimed that he was carrying a weapon and brandished it after exiting the vehicle. They said that Israeli forces opened fire at him before he was transported from the scene for treatment.
